Basketball Recap: Copper Basin Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lookout Valley last Monday, Copper Basin came back down to earth. The Copper Basin Cougars were dealt a 78-34 defeat at the hands of the Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Eagles on Tuesday. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-22.

When it comes to explaining why Copper Basin lost, don't look at Carder Lance. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Smith, who scored ten points along with five boards and three steals.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Caldwell, who earned 18 points. Caldwell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last four games he's played. Carter Smith was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Copper Basin dropped their record down to 6-19 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season.

Copper Basin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts, they will venture away from home to take on East Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
