Basketball Recap: South County Victorious

South County won the last time they faced Griggsville-Perry and things went their way on Tuesday too. The South County Vipers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes 46-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vipers.

Despite the defeat, Griggsville-Perry saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brody Rush went 8-for-10 to rack up 20 points. Rush also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 80%. Logan Fencik was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

South County's victory bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Griggsville-Perry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16.

South County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-51 win against Lutheran on the 18th. As for Griggsville-Perry, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-51 loss against Edinburg on the 13th.
