Soccer Game Preview: Archbishop Murphy vs. Edmonds-Woodway

The Archbishop Murphy Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Archbishop Murphy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Mountlake Terrace get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Archbishop Murphy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Mountlake Terrace are ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, Edmonds-Woodway made easy work of Lake Stevens on Friday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Archbishop Murphy's record is now 10-1-2. As for Edmonds-Woodway, their record now sits at 7-4-2.

Archbishop Murphy came out on top in a nail-biter against Edmonds-Woodway when the teams last played on April 1st, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
