Soccer Game Preview: Forest vs. Belleview

The Forest Wildcats will take on the Belleview Rattlers in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Forest will head out to face Belleview after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Forest fell 3-1 to Lake Minneola. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Hawks are ranked 397th).

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Belleview was not quite Leesburg's equal in the second half on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellow Jackets.

Forest's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2. As for Belleview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

Forest beat Belleview 2-0 in their previous meeting back in November. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forest since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
