Recap: Munster Mustangs vs. Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles

In what's become a running theme this season, the Munster Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on Lake Station Edison with a sharp 62-40 win. The victory was nothing new for Munster as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Munster found their leader in underclassman Gracyn Gilliard, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Gilliard has scored at least a third of Munster's points. Nina Garner was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Munster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Lake Station Edison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Munster will take on Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland is on a five-game streak of home wins, Munster a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Lake Station Edison, they will head out on the road to face off against Hanover Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Hanover Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday.
