Basketball Game Preview: New Hope Indians vs. Plainview Bears

The New Hope Indians will square off against the Plainview Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, New Hope strolled past Columbia with points to spare, taking the game 72-58. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Meanwhile, Plainview waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They took their game with ease, bagging a 79-41 win over the Tigers. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Tigers are ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Hope is also on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Plainview, they pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

New Hope ended up a good deal behind Plainview when the teams last played on January 3rd, losing 75-58. Can New Hope avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
