Softball Recap: Gulf Shores Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gulf Shores entered their tilt with Satsuma on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Gators by a score of 6-3. This was payback for the Dolphins, who suffered a 7-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Anna Leigh Price was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. Price was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madi Nelson, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Neaveh James was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Gulf Shores kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Gulf Shores' record is now 21-13-1. As for Satsuma, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 17-13-2.

Coming up, Gulf Shores will head out on the road to challenge Baldwin County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Satsuma, they will be taking part in a tournament against Smiths Station at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
