Wellsboro is 8-2 against Towanda since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wellsboro Hornets will face off against the Towanda Black Knights at 7:15 p.m. Towanda took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Wellsboro, who comes in off a win.

Wellsboro is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since January 17, 2024 on Wednesday. They breezed by Wyalusing Valley to the tune of 61-29.

Meanwhile, Towanda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Troy 80-50. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Trojans are ranked 162nd).

Towanda's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Wellsboro, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

Wellsboro came out on top in a nail-biter against Towanda when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 51-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wellsboro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
