Powhatan is a perfect 9-0 against L.C. Bird since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will host the Skyhawks at 5:00 p.m. Powhatan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Powhatan got the win against James River Midlothian by a conclusive 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Ava Harper, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Megan Gobble was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Powhatan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, L.C. Bird lost 20-2 to Clover Hill on Thursday. The Skyhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

L.C. Bird saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Goyne, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

L.C. Bird's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Powhatan, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Powhatan took their victory against L.C. Bird in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Skyhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
