East Wake came tearing into Saturday's match with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-56 W against the Hunt Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-44 back in January.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Na'sir Hines, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 17 points and five boards. What's more, Hines also posted a 80% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was AJ Hampton, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points and three steals.

East Wake's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points over those games. As for Hunt, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.

Looking ahead, East Wake will be playing in front of their home fans against Southern Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. East Wake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Southern Wayne likes a good challenge. As for Hunt, they will head out to face off against C.B. Aycock at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
