Basketball Recap: Southwest Prep Northwest Takes a Loss

Southwest Prep Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 51-47 to the Southwest Prep Northeast KNIGHTS, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The ROYALS were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the KNIGHTS earlier this season, when they won 48-39.

Despite the defeat, Southwest Prep Northwest saw an underclassman step up: freshman CALEB JAIMEZ posted 17 points. JAIMEZ is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was ANTHONY CHAVEZ, who put up ten points and five rebounds.

Southwest Prep Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Southwest Prep Northeast, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Prep Northwest will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Non Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Southwest Prep Northeast and San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matchups.
