Coventry Christian came into Monday's contest having lost 12 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 21-3 margin over The Christian Academy. The win was just what Coventry Christian needed coming off of a 15-0 defeat in their prior matchup.

Shayne Hartline made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hartline was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jeffrey Swartz was incredible, going 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and a triple. Another player making a difference was John Mark Niehls, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Coventry Christian's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1.
