Basketball Recap: Panguitch Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Panguitch had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 54-46 victory over the Bryce Valley Mustangs. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Panguitch had a senior duo take command as Daxton Miller went 10-for-12 to rack up 27 points and seven boards and Remme Chappell shot 67% from the field en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game.

Panguitch was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bryce Valley only two assists.

Bryce Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brace Syrett, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaren Roberts, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 11 points.

Panguitch's victory bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Bryce Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Panguitch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-40 win against Rich on the 1st. As for Bryce Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-42 defeat against Tabiona on the 1st.
