Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is El Capitan's 18th in Last 22 Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only El Capitan walked away with it. They walked away with a 62-54 win over the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 53-48 back in December of 2024.

Paige Worthem was a one-woman wrecking crew for El Capitan as she dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Worthem has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keira Heinricy, who scored 12 points and four steals.

El Capitan has been performing well recently as they've won 18 of their last 22 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. Rancho Buena Vista's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-10.

Coming up, El Capitan will challenge Portola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho Buena Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
