Basketball Recap: Edwards County Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Edwards County won the last time they faced Norris City-Omaha-Enfield and things went their way on Friday too. The Edwards County Lions enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over the Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Fighting Cardinals. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Fighting Cardinals are ranked 521st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edwards County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Edwards County and Hamilton County will round out the year against one another at at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thompsonville at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
