It was a good run, but Nixa unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Saints when the teams met back in September of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11.

Gwen Kubik paced Nixa's offense, picking up eight kills. Kubik got some help from Taylor Wood and her ten assists.

Among those leading the charge was Malin Chaput, who had ten digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last 13 matches. Addison Smith also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Nixa's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2.

Nixa has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Blue Valley West on the 4th. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Olathe West on the 4th.
