Football Recap: Mainland Regional's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Mainland Regional hadn't beaten Ocean City on the road since October 26, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 20-7. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Raiders are ranked 87th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mainland Regional pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.7 points over those games. As for Ocean City, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mainland Regional will face off against Egg Harbor Township at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ocean City, they will challenge Middle Township at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
