Bellevue West extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 16-14. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Elkhorn South Storm. That's two games straight that the Thunderbirds have won by just one run.

As for Elkhorn South, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

For Elkhorn South's part, Johnny Cotten was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. Cotten has become a key player for the Storm: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 9-15 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Vince Kutler, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Bellevue West didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-2 defeat against Omaha Westside on the 9th. Elkhorn South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
