The Bayside Bears will face off against the Martin County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bayside had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Merritt Island Christian on Thursday. Everything went Bayside's way against Merritt Island Christian as Bayside made off with a 15-5 victory.

NICOLE GARCIA was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. GARCIA was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.
In other batting news, HALEIGH CURRY was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of AUBREE KNOCHE, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Bayside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Martin County had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 22-1 margin over Lincoln Park Academy on Friday. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Maya Scotti made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Scotti was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Martin County got a massive performance out of Kalei Bertke, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kiara Schweitzer, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Bayside's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Martin County, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bayside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Martin County struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
