Cathedral faced Roncalli in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Fighting Irish came out on top against the Royals by a score of 7-2. The Fighting Irish's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Sidney Feczko made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Anna Moore was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cathedral was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive games.

Cathedral's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Roncalli, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

Cathedral has already played their next matchup, a 9-6 victory against Carmel on the 7th. As for Roncalli, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-3 win against Guerin Catholic on the 6th.
