Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Skates Past Eastside with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hawthorne). They took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 78-32 win over the Eastside Rams. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Rams are ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hawthorne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amarhae Hopkins, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 boards. Hopkins is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was De' Mya Adams, who went 8 of 17 en route to 26 points.
