Preview: Brewer Bears vs. Ryan Raiders
Brewer is 0-4 against Ryan since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Brewer Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Ryan Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Brewer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Ryan is ranked 106th).
Last Friday, Brewer lost to Centennial at home by a decisive 31-15 margin.
Jaden Garrett put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Ryan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 25-19 to Aledo.
Braeden Mussett put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 65 yards and a touchdown. Mussett was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards.
The losses dropped Brewer to 3-5 and Ryan to 5-2.
Brewer might still be hurting after the 31-6 loss they got from Ryan in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can Brewer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
