Baseball Recap: Lexington Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Lexington lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Marietta, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Indians a 7-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lexington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Rollins, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Rollins has posted over his last five contests. Cash Dierking was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Lexington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 12-1-1 record this season. As for Marietta, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Lexington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
