Football Recap: Lutheran Northwest Finds Home Field Redemption Against Detroit Leadership Academy + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Lutheran Northwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Detroit Leadership Academy on Friday as they made off with a 44-22 win. Considering the Crusaders have won four matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jonah Breithaupt was his usual excellent self, rushing for 92 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. What's more, he racked up 21 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in September. Another player making a difference was Josiah Kouba, who rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lutheran Northwest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lutheran Northwest now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Detroit Leadership Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Lutheran Northwest will square off against Detroit Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Crusaders' offense will have their work cut out for them. Detroit Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
