Basketball Recap: Hemingway Drops Season-High Score on Kingstree

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hemingway). They came out on top against the Kingstree Blazers by a score of 58-46 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Leading Hemingway to victory were Xavier Washington and Jabri Pearson. Washington went 6 for 13 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds, while Pearson posted nine points in addition to six assists and three steals. Washington has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamer Wright, who had six points and eight rebounds.

Hemingway's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Kingstree, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Hemingway will be playing in front of their home fans against South Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kingstree, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-39 loss against Johnsonville on the 11th.
