Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Emily Mader and Julia West Lead Acadiana Home School Athletics to Victory

There's no place like home for Acadiana Home School Athletics, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. That two set margin sets a new team best for the Commandos this season.

Acadiana Home School Athletics was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 25-21, 25-9.

Leading Acadiana Home School Athletics to victory were Julia West and Emily Mader. West had 16 kills and seven aces, while Mader had ten aces and nine kills. Mader is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Hoffpauir, who had 13 assists and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Acadiana Home School Athletics was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Acadiana Home School Athletics now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Christian Home Educators Fellowship, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Acadiana Home School Athletics will head out to challenge Open Door Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christian Home Educators Fellowship, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against John Paul the Great Academy on the 12th.
