Softball Preview: Central Panthers vs. Lebanon Warriors
The Central Panthers will face off against the Lebanon Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Lebanon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Central will bounce into Monday's match after beating Dallas, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 6-3 on Friday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lebanon). They blew past Marist 17-1 on Thursday. The Warriors not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 13, 2024.
Lebanon got a massive performance out of Scarlett French, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI French has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tatum Cole, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Lebanon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win got Central back to even at 4-4. As for Lebanon, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
