Basketball Recap: Monument Valley Takes a Loss

Monument Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 71-25 loss at the hands of the Monticello Buckaroo. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-8.

Akecheta Shortman was Monument Valley's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Shortman also led the team in rebounds with six.

Monument Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Monticello, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Monument Valley has already played their next contest, a 62-43 loss against Non Varsity Opponent on the 16th. As for Monticello, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 71-57 defeat against Green River on the 17th.
