Football Recap: Chapin Piles Up the Points Against El Paso

Chapin waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the El Paso Tigers 56-0. The contest marked the Huskies' most dominant victory of the season.

Daveon Singleton had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 144 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 204 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Chapin is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Joshua Martel was another key player, rushing for 56 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.

Chapin's run defense was locked in: El Paso could only muster 0.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Juel Delgado for the heroic effort on defense: he. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Chapin now has a winning record of 4-3. As for El Paso, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Chapin is set to take on their familiar foe Canutillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,121 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, El Paso will face off against rival Hanks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
