Basketball Recap: Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis Comes Up Short

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 41-16 to the Rivers of Life Christian Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-25 last Thursday.

When it comes to explaining why Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis lost, don't look at Zuri King. Despite the final result, she posted three points and 14 rebounds. King is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games she's played. Madison Zamarripa also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

Rivers of Life Christian was led to victory by Ali Thompson and Hailey Henrichs. Thompson dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, while Henrichs dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. Thompson is becoming a predictor of Rivers of Life Christian's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 4-1 (and 1-3 when she doesn't). Hailey Camren was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Rivers of Life Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis has already played their next matchup, a 57-18 loss against Heritage Classical Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Rivers of Life Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-31 defeat against Eagle Ridge Christian on the 28th.
