Preview: Independence Patriots vs. WestSide Renegades

Independence is 0-10 against WestSide since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Independence Patriots will get right back to it and host the WestSide Renegades at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a seven-game winning streak alive.

On Wednesday, Independence strolled past Sherman with points to spare, taking the game 47-28. 47 seems to be a good number for Independence as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Independence's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lacey Goodson, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Goodson has scored at least a third of Independence's points. Another player making a difference was Harmony Mills, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, WestSide scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past River View 64-37 on the road. WestSide has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Independence has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for WestSide, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Independence couldn't quite finish off WestSide in their previous matchup back in January and fell 44-42. Will Independence have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
