Recap: Remington Broncos vs. Chaparral Roadrunners
There's no place like home for the Remington Broncos, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Chaparral by a score of 38-28 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Remington also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Chaparral's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Auburn Hill, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Hill scored a full 39.3% of Chaparral's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Chaparral struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Remington's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Remington will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ell-Saline at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Chaparral will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Haven at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Haven is ranked 80th, while Chaparral is ranked 73rd).
