Recap: Grandview Eagles vs. St. Paul Lutheran Giants
The Grandview Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took down St. Paul Lutheran 47-33. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Grandview also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Several Giants players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Sherrill, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Sherrill hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Pippa Detring, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Grandview pushed their record up to 7-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grandview will square off against Bourbon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Bourbon is ranked 434th, while Grandview is ranked 413th). St. Paul Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Arcadia Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
