Basketball Recap: Mineral Ridge Skates Past Lordstown with Ease

While Mineral Ridge didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 60-25 win over the Lordstown Red Devils. The match marked the Rams' most dominant victory of the season so far.

It was another big night for Chase Moore, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Shaffer, who posted 11 points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Mineral Ridge's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lordstown, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Mineral Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-37 defeat against Springfield on the 23rd. As for Lordstown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leetonia at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lordstown is facing Leetonia at the right time seeing as Leetonia is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
