Volleyball Recap: Madeline Morales and Debora Lopez Secure Win for Hubbard

Hubbard had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Back of the Yards College Prep Bobcats.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hubbard took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-11.

Hubbard was led to victory by Debora Lopez and Madeline Morales. Lopez had ten assists and six aces, while Morales had 15 digs. What's more, Lopez posted two kills, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good servers: Hubbard was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Hubbard's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Back of the Yards College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Hubbard has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Juarez on the 2nd. As for Back of the Yards College Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Kennedy on the 2nd.
