Proviso East is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Hinsdale Central on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Proviso East was beaten by Hinsdale Central 63-33. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.

Proviso East's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Camiya Marshall, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 15 points and three steals, and Nariyah Head, who posted seven points and three steals. Marshall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 16 games she's played.

Meanwhile, Oak Lawn entered their tilt with Bradley-Bourbonnais on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Boilermakers 61-44. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Boilermakers are ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Proviso East's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games.
