Recap: Loretto Angels vs. Riverside Rangers
The Loretto Angels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Riverside 65-13. Loretto has struggled against Riverside recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophiya Bustillos, who scored 27 points along with eight assists and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bustillos has scored at least a third of Riverside's points. Another player making a difference was Hazel Veloz, who scored 19 points along with eight steals.
Loretto's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-19. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.3 points per game. As for Riverside, the win (which was their 28th in a row) raised their record to 30-1.
Loretto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Riverside also has no future games currently scheduled.
