Softball Game Preview: McKay Royal Scots vs. North Salem Vikings

McKay hasn't had much luck against North Salem recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Royal Scots will challenge the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. McKay has given up an average of 16.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

McKay is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against South Albany, falling 23-1.

Willamette hit North Salem with a 12-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings lost 16-1 to the Wolverines. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

McKay's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for North Salem, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

McKay suffered a grim 15-7 defeat to North Salem in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Royal Scots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
