Softball Recap: Redwater Gets the Win

Redwater posted their closest victory since April 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Atlanta Rabbits. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Rabbits walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Laney Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Karly Jo Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Johnson wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Redwater lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Redwater's win bumped their record up to 2-9-1. As for Atlanta, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4-1.

Looking ahead, Redwater will venture away from home to face off against New Boston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Redwater will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Atlanta, they will welcome De Kalb at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Atlanta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
