Softball Recap: Barbe Takes a Loss

Barbe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alexandria Trojans. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Barbe's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Alexandria, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Barbe and Alexandria should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Buccaneers will square off against Lake Charles College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (87 vs. 320). Meanwhile, Alexandria (ranked fifth) will meet West Monroe (ranked 41st) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
