Baseball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was the 8-7 winner over Kelso when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunder fell just short of the Hilanders by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Legend Haskew was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendon Lawson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Kelso, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mountain View will square off against rival Evergreen at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Kelso is set to challenge their familiar foe Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hilanders 3, the Falcons 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
