Softball Recap: Fremont's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Fremont had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over the Uintah Utes on Tuesday. The Silverwolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Savannah Palmatier, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Olivia Broadbent also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Palmatier wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Fremont's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Uintah, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Fremont will be playing in front of their home fans against Logan at 3:30 p.m. on March 18th. Logan has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something Fremont will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Uintah, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against South Sevier on the 13th.
