Basketball Recap: Serra Beats Jordan for Their Third Straight Win

Serra entered their tilt with Jordan on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Jordan Panthers by a score of 74-65.

Serra's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khary Wilder led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Wilder is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Chinemerem Anyikwa, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Serra smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Serra has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Jordan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Serra will take on Muir in a tournament on Monday. Serra knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Muir likes a good challenge. As for Jordan, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Compton at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
