Baseball Recap: Malvern Prep Comes Up Short

Malvern Prep managed to slip by Poly Prep Country Day the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Friars came up short against the Blue Devils on Sunday, falling 9-0. The Friars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Malvern Prep's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Poly Prep Country Day, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Malvern Prep will venture away from home to face off against Germantown Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Friars 3.1, the Patriots 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Poly Prep Country Day, they will welcome Tottenville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
