Soccer Game Preview: Wagoner vs. Victory Christian

The Wagoner Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Victory Christian Conquerors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wagoner is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Wagoner had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Stilwell on Friday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 4-0 victory. Given Wagoner's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Stilwell are ranked 72nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Victory Christian was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They fell 3-1 to Hilldale. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Victory Christian couldn't quite close it out.

Wagoner's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six contests. As for Victory Christian, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Wagoner came up short against Victory Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
