Baseball Game Preview: Indian Hills Braves vs. Hackensack Comets

Indian Hills has gone 8-2 against Hackensack recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Braves will welcome the Comets at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Indian Hills has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Indian Hills is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Dwight-Englewood just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2.

Jack Birrer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those five hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Charlie Brugna was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Nutley hit Hackensack with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets fell 12-7 to the Maroon Raiders. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Matt Feehan led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Hackensack's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Indian Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Everything went Indian Hills' way against Hackensack in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Indian Hills made off with a 13-3 victory. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
