Recap: Montcalm Generals vs. Richwood Lumberjacks
The Montcalm Generals won the last time they faced the Richwood Lumberjacks, and things went their way on Friday too. Montcalm secured a 49-44 W over Richwood. The win made it back-to-back wins for Montcalm.
Several Lumberjacks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Russell, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Trivolette, who scored 12 points.
Montcalm is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Richwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montcalm will take on River View at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (River View is ranked 66th, while Montcalm is ranked 86th). As for Richwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilmer County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Gilmer County is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
