Softball Recap: Plumstead Christian Has No Trouble Against Delaware County Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Hope-Solebury, Plumstead Christian was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Delaware County Christian Knights an 18-0 shutout. That 18 run margin sets a new team best for Plumstead Christian this season.

Olivia Incudine was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Incudine was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Madison Edgerton was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Simons, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Plumstead Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .931. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Plumstead Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Delaware County Christian, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Looking ahead, Plumstead Christian will face off against Lower Moreland at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Delaware County Christian, they will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars are coming into the contest with six straight defeats at home, meaning the Knights will have to defend against a squad out to give their home crowd a much needed win.
