Basketball Recap: West Chicago Comes Up Short

West Chicago was the 50-39 winner over Kennedy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The West Chicago Wildcats took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kennedy Crusaders.

Kennedy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Dahl out in front who went 7-for-12 to rack up 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Veon Sargent-Williams, who posted nine points along with five assists and five boards.

West Chicago dropped their record down to 12-18 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Kennedy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Chicago will host Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Chicago is facing Elgin at the right time seeing as Elgin is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Kennedy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Muchin College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
