Softball Recap: St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs vs. Gibraltar Vikings

With a playoff win on the line, St. Mary Catholic rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Gibraltar Vikings. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Zephyrs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Gabrielle Guerrero spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Emily Vogel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Sammi Weis was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

St. Mary Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Gibraltar, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.
